Temples and traditions of Devinuwara

Blessings of the South combines the living religious traditions of Devinuwara with Hiriketiya, Mirissa and an evening near Tangalle. At the temple complex, a Buddhist temple and Vishnu shrine stand close together, offering a respectful introduction to two traditions that shape the south.

A Buddhist blessing

The blessing takes place in a working temple rather than as a staged performance. Shoulders and knees must be covered, and visitors follow the guide’s instructions.

An offering to Vishnu

The programme includes a traditional offering at the Hindu shrine. Its timing follows the life and rules of the religious complex.

South-coast beaches

Hiriketiya and Mirissa

The journey continues to Hiriketiya and Mirissa for the coastal landscape and time by the sea. Swimming is only appropriate when local conditions are safe. Dolphin sightings are not part of this land excursion and are never guaranteed.

Sunset near Tangalle

The day ends on the coast near Tangalle. Sunset visibility depends on clouds, weather and arrival time.

Practical details

The confirmed price includes air-conditioned transport, a Russian-speaking guide and programme entrance tickets. Lunch, personal expenses and activities outside the itinerary are separate. Bring temple clothing, swimwear, a towel, drinking water and sun protection.
