Tea country, ancient temples and mountain landscapes in one carefully paced private journey.
Heart of Sri Lanka travels from the coast towards elephants, Buddhist Kandy, waterfalls, tea country, Nuwara Eliya and Ella. An overnight stop breaks up the long distances and gives the central highlands more space than a single-day excursion.
After an early pickup, the route begins in the Pinnawala area and continues to Kandy for the city and Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. From Kandy the road climbs towards Nuwara Eliya through cooler air, waterfalls and tea-covered hills. The source material highlights the historic Grand Hotel and old post office as features of the town’s colonial character. Accommodation and meals are only included when they appear in the individually confirmed offer.
The second day focuses on highland tea estates, a factory visit when available, waterfalls and Ella. The extended source itinerary describes Ravana Falls, a scenic train journey, Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. The final selection depends on weather, walking ability and train tickets, so it is agreed before departure.
An older extended description also lists Ambuluwawa Tower, a Hindu temple, the golden Buddha statue at Dambulla and a choice between Sigiriya and Pidurangala. These are not automatic parts of the current structured route and cannot realistically all be added at once. Tell us which place matters most and we will check whether part of the itinerary can be substituted.
Bring your passport, comfortable shoes, temple clothing, a rain jacket and a warm layer. Current inclusions are private air-conditioned transport, hotel transfers, route planning and Russian-speaking support. Entrance tickets, accommodation and meals are separate unless the confirmed proposal states otherwise.
Compare this journey with the one-day Ella excursion or the focused Kandy and Pinnawala day trip.
